![•fc* reports, as rej^ards both character and sufficiency, with the exception of those for the villai^es of FIMBER, FlvIDAY- THORPE, YfBTHORPE and WETWANG where tem])orary Stand-tat)s have been erected and sutJ]dies are taken from the mains of the Water Supply Scheme. The house-holders have thus been enabled to obtain tlieir supplies from a more reliable source than heretofore, when they were entirely dependent upon rain-water at Fimber, Friday thorpe and Wetwang-, and upon a horse-gear pump and an old style wi ndl ass and bucket, each on deep wells at Tibthorpe. The supply for FIMBER and FRIDAYTHORPE was obtained by the ])urchase of water from the Norton Rural District Council’s main, where it ])asses nearby this Council’s new reservoir at Towthorpe. The surplus water not recjuired for their needs is passed into this Council’s main, through a teni])orary connection, pending the ])roper su])])ly from the Pumping Station at Flutton being available. At Tibthorpe and Wetwang the supplies have been taken off the main carrying water from the Hutton Pumping Station, and may be described as an extension of the service which supplies the Royal Air Force Station at Kellythor})e. The pum])ing arrangements for this supply are still of a temporary nature but, despite various difficulties experienced, it can be said that the supply has been well maintained. The remaining part of the district, exce])ting the village of Nafferton, has continued to be sup])lied as before 1)v means of public ])um])s which have been well maintained, bv re])airs when needed and by constant su])ervision. At NAFhERTOX, where a laid-on supply has been enjoyed for over twenty-live years, the maintenance of the supply has been continued as in the past. An abundant sup])ly of water has always been avoidable. The Sanitary Inspector has continued in the supervision of this village scheme which has proved to be efficient and able to ])rovide for all calls made upon it. During the year under review no extension of the system has been made.'
