In comparing the measurements of living individuals with thosaof the crania, an allowance of .06 of an inch should be made for thickness of the mucous membrane. The difference in the number of measurements of the antero-posterior and the lateral diameter is due to the fact that in many cases the antero-posterior diameter was taken from the first and second molars instead of from the third; it was necessary to reject all such measurements.
