    time, occafionally interpofing’ a mild purgative to prevent it from falivating ; but in general I prefer the mercurial pill prepared in the manner juft now men- tioned. When there is no chancre or bubo, no appearance, in fhort, that the infection is likely to be carried into the fyftem, ae would be imprudent to adminifter corro- five fublimate, the ‘mercurius calcinatus, or any other of the more acrid prepara- tions of mercury. I fhall content myfelf with the above obfervations on the general treatment of the gonorrhoea, and fhall now offer fome few remarks on particular fymptoms and after-complaints that accompany or fol- low that difeafe when it is in any violent degree, or has been injudicioufly treated: thefe are hernia humoralis, chordee, bubo,
