The Welfare Centre has continued to enjoy the support and enthusiasm of the voluntary helpers, to whose Honorary Secretary (Mrs. K. (a) Investigations have shown that the causes of unsatis¬ factory samples have been animal—not human—contam¬ ination, influenced by certain climatic conditions. No human source of contamination has been found affecting the private spring water supplying a small number of houses at Beech- down. Recommendations have been made regarding the latter. (b) Figures kindly furnished by the Water Engineer show that the quantity is adequate.
