![[3° ] . thy Member of this Society, made at that Time by Art, and fhew’d the Society, Air exadtly of the fame Qua- lity. I was defirous of knowing if this Air would be kindled by electri- cal Flafhes. I accordingly made fuch Air by putting an Ounce of Filings ot Iron, an Ounce of Oil of Vitriol and four Ounces of Water into a Flor en ce Flafk; upon which an Ebullition en- fued, and the Air, which arofe frorn thefe Materials, not only filfd three Bladders, but alfo, upon the Applica¬ tion of the Finger of an Eledlrified Perfon, took Flame and burnt near the Top and out of the Neck of the Flafk a con fiderable Time. When the Flame is almoft out, fhake the Flafk and the Flame revives.
