We are informed by their publication, but can scarcely give credit to the statement, that the Arch- bishop of Canterbury, the Duke of St Albans, the X>uke of Devonshire, the Duke of Leeds, the Duke of Wellington, the Marquis of Lansdowne, the Marquis of Stafford, the Marquis of Bath, the Marquis of Camden, and the Lord Mayor of Lon- don, are Joint Presidents of this Institution. We can, indeed, easily belieye, that the artful and designing persons who formed thisListitution, would solicit the patronage of those and other distinguish- ed characters, on account of the honours and emo- luments which would thence accrue; but we are perfectly convinced, that if such honourable cha- racters have consented to become patrons of such an establishment, it is only in consequence of a delu- sion.
