![Plitliisis, coming under the care of Poor Tjaw Medical Officers, are ]iow notifiable, and with a view to the general adoption of a voluntary notification of sncli Diseases the Board have very recently issued a printed i\lemoranduin on Administrative Measures against O Tuberculosis. The Board are desirous that in each future Annual Report, a statement should be included of the Action taken by the Local Authority under the Regulations. It will therefore be necessary during the year 1909, to formulate some scheme to meet the Board’s requirements. Small Pox Hospital. I am happy to state that, the building has again remained vacant during the year. Retford Hospital. There were 13 deaths in the Hospital during the year, 6 of which were non-residents. Union Workhouse. There w^ere 32 deaths in the Workhouse during the year, 12 of wdiich were non- residents. I^uisances. z^ny action taken under this heading wdll be found in the Report of the Borough Surveyor. My thanks are again due to Mr. Kennedy for his ready assistance. Dairies, Cowsheds, and IVlilkshops Order. The Cowsheds have been carefully examined by both the Borough Surveyor and myself. In view of the coming into force in July, 1909, of the Regulations, regarding air space, the matter is engaging the attention of the Sanitary and Highways Committee. Elementary Schools. There has been no cause for closure of Schools, owing to epidemics. [Vieteorology.
