E. to give you a letter of reeoinmeudation for the proper autliorities at Brcslau; aud I shall not fail to forward to you without delay H. E.'s reply. I shall likewise request Sir H. His Excellency Baron Manteuffel most readily complied with the request thus made, and in the evening of the same day Lord Loftus wrote as follows: Beklin, April 23, 1857. Sir,—Barou Manteuffel has told me that he will forward, or cause to» ^ be forwarded, through M. dc Raumcr, a letter of recommendation for you to the Upper President of the province of Silesia, so that on your arrival at Brcslau you may at once auuounce yourselves to Baron Schleinitz.
