Description
Wood cut illustration from an edition of 1724 (2nd year of the Yongzheng reign period of the Qing dynasty), illustrating the ways in which pathologies of the three Yin channels of the hand and foot are manifested in the inner areas of the body. The hand taiyin channel is related to disorders of the lungs; the hand jueyin channel is related to disorders of the Heart Envelope, the foot taiyin is related to disorders of the spleen, the foot jueyin channel is related to disorders of the liver, the foot shaoyin channel is related to disorders of the kidneys, etc. - i.e. each governs a particular internal pathology.
