Lettering

Lettering on published engraving (by Holloway) gives the subject as the Duke of Urbino. In the neighbouring text, Lavater confesses that the image is ten copies distant from the original, but criticises its inadequacy as well as Raphael's techniques in general: the nose is always too near the mouth and too far from the eye
