Dear Dr. Crick, In recent years we have had here during the Trinity Term a course of lectures dealing with various aspects of the recent history of scierce, especially from the methodological point of view. This year we are arranging a series on the history of biology, the general theme being the interaction of theory, experiment and models in biological discovery. Would you be able to come and give a lecture on your own work on DNA and related matters'? It would be particularly interesting to have an account of how you came to arrive at your model, what you and Watson and others have done with it, and any other aspects of the story Y /hich you think relevant. The lectures are to be on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. beginning on 2 May. The best date for yours would probably be 30 May, or the week before, or the week after. We usually have a large audience for this series, and after each lecture we have discussions which, in spite of the numbers, have in past years also worked very well. You may have seen a book called Turning points in Physics which was an earlier series of the ame kind.
