Description
Box file containing items of ephemera in acid free sleeves relating to the Wellcome Collection exhibitions etc. and Wellcome Trust. Includes: leaflets / invitations etc. from the Wellcome Research Institution relating to the ceremony of laying the corner stone for the Wellcome Building at 183 Euston Road, London in 1931 by Lord Moynihan (President of the Royal College of Surgeons). It later housed the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum, Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine, Wellcome Foundation and currently Wellcome Collection (2015). Includes a letter to Arnold C. Klebs from Henry S. Wellcome (December 1912), The Wellcome gold medal for anthropological research (Royal Anthropological Institute, London), the Cinchona tercentenary celebration and exhibition (Wigmore Street, London, 1930), Wellcome Historical Medical Library Christmas card (1961). Also includes: 'Mind the sex' (3 cards), part of the Wellcome Collection Sexology Season, 2015.
