![Executive Committee 1. The Executive Committee shall have the supervision of all build¬ ings and improvements belonging to the corporation, and shall hold stated meetings at least once in each month and as often as the exigencies of business may require. 2. They shall audit the bills on receiving them from the Superin¬ tendent, and make a draft on the Treasurer for the amount of the same. At their succeeding meeting they are to examine all such bills to see that they are duly receipted. They shall notify the Superintendent each month of the total amount of money which may be expected for all run¬ ning expenses during the following month. 3. They shall keep a book of minutes, and enter therein such business as may come before them, which book must be laid before the Govern¬ ors at every monthly meeting. 4. The Committee may direct the expenditure of money or clothes for the relief of patients who from extreme poverty or circumstances of peculiar distress, may need such aid. 5. Whenever they think it necessary that a special meeting of the Governors should be called they shall apply for that purpose to the President, or in his absence, to the Vice-President. In the absence or inability of both to act, such meetings may be called by the Chairman of the Executive Committee. 6. The Executive Committee shall have and exercise such other pow¬ ers as may from time to time be conferred upon them by the Board of Governors. CHAPTER VIII. 1. The Board of Governors, or a majority of them, shall, immediately after the Annual Meeting of the Board in each year, elect by ballot such and so many physicians and surgeons as they shall judge necessary to attend the Hospital and to render all necessary medical aid to the persons admitted to the benefits of the Institution, and to conduct the educational and medical work of the Hospital. In case of a vacancy or vacancies, the Board of Governors, or a majority of them shall elect other physicians or surgeons to fill the same. 2. No surgeon, officer, nurse or servant of this Institution shall accept any gift or bequest from or on behalf of any patient in the Wards or Out- Patient Department.
