![5 Complete Abortions 8 Sets of Twins 3 Babies died after Delivery 1 Incomplete Abortion with P. P.|Hemorrhage 1 Maternal Death Twins: No. 1 died after birth. No. 2 Breech ex¬ traction, still-birth, with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, necessitating a Craniotomy. Representative Cases Case No. 1. B. S., 103 Willett St., New York City. Family of four children and new-born baby, the eldest a girl about 12 years of age. When patient was five months pregnant her husband left her taking with him two boys. Up to time of delivery the mother did housework by the day in order to support herself and two children. Home consisted of two rooms which were in a terrible condition. Patient was very cooperative and appreciated everything done for her. Cleaner gave services until patient was able to be about. Refused aid from Charitable Organization. Baby clothes given by Lying-In Hospital. Case No. 2. C. C., 217 Chrystie St., New York City. Family of three children and new-born baby living in three fairly well kept rooms. I ather is serving two years in prison for forgery. Mother and children are cared for by the A. I. C. P.; housekeeper is also furnished by the Society. Nursing care given. Case No. 3. C. S., 328 West 40 St., New York City. Family of five children. Patient was referred to Lying-In Hospital by the C. O. S. Husband is serving a jail sentence for non-support. Mother helped to support children by occasionally working on furs at home. Rooms were poorly kept. C. O. S. helped with rent and gave home supplies at various times and will continue with some assistance. Nursing care given.
