![was included in the severe cuts of whole-time personnel, and here again the number of new individuals coming to the service has meant a great increase in training. In addition to the normal and operational duties this Service continues to assist with the transfer of both Civilian and Military cases under the Emergency Hospital Scheme. « ✓ The work of the County Equipment Officer with regard to medical stores as men- tioned in last year’s report has increased due to the receipt of extra reserve equipment ; and also to the re-organisation of certain of the First Aid Posts. In view of the large numbers of personnel now needing intensive training, special arrangements have been made for each Civil Defence area to hold certain items of medical equipment for the j basic training in First Aid, Anti-gas and Home Nursing.- Lastly on the administrative side the work has in no way decreased. From every ; aspect the work in the Central Office has increased in volume and has necessitated much I personal contact with the Local Authorities, Hospital Committees, representatives of the Services and Home Guard and with the Ministry of Health. The following figures are of interest in giving the extent of the Services and if a compared with last year’s report will show the differences in whole-time and part-time ] personnel.
