    Drainage and Sewerage The main sewers in the Stourbridge area are under the control of £>tourbricige Main Drainage Board* The sowers in Lye and Nollescote area aro under the control of the Upper Stour Valley Main Sewerage Board. The sewage is conveyed to the Whittington sewage farms belonging to these Boards and is treated on tho Broad Irrigation principle. SECTION D Housing work is referred to in the Report of tho Public Health Inspector. SUCTION E Inspection and Supervision of Food Details of the inspections carried out during the year will be found in the Public Health Inspector's Report. SUCTION F Prevalence of, and Control over, Infectious and Other Diseases Polionyelitis One case was notified in January v/hich concerned a boy of 14 months, whose left calf muscles were affected. Scarlet Fever There were 37 notifications, compared with 32. Fourteen of tho cases were admitted to hospital. Generally the incidence was of a mild type and there was no death. Measles The number of notifications received was 778, compared with 1 6 in the previous year and 944 in 1955- No death resulted. Whooping Cough Notifications numbered 130 as against 96* There was no death. Food Poisoning Four cases, as in 1936, were notified, but in none could the source of infection be definitely established. Three of the cases occurred in one household. Diphtheria Immunisation The level of immunisation, both primary and secondary, was satisfactorily maintained. Primary treatments numbered 371 , of which 347 related to children of pre-school age. 394 children were given re-inforcing injections. Of an estimated child population of 8,430, a total of 7,527 children under 15 year of age had been immunised by the end of 1957* Of this total, 1,935 related to children of pre-school age. It is estimated that approx. 95^6 of school children and 6jfo of those of pre-school age have been completely immunised.
