GRAHAM, Secretary. Report of Surgical Staff. There were 812 cases treated during the year, 480 of which were operative cases 218 being of a major character. The number of deaths was 15, giving a mortality of 1-85 as compared with 22 deaths in 1944, when the mortality was 3’03. Of the 15 deaths 6 occurred within 24 hours of admission. There were 136 maternity cases, of these 7 were operative and 10 emergency. Also 3122 out-patient attendances, of which 339 were minor operations. The surgical Staff desires to place on record its appreciation of the very excellent work accomplished by the Matron and Nursing Staff. The Secretary will be grateful for copies of Old Annual Reports of the Hospital issued 1874, 1876—1910, 1912, 1916.
