![THE HISTORY OF DONALD THE HAMMERER. From an authentic Account of the Family of Invernahyle. [MS. communicated by Walter Scott, Esq.] Alexander, the first Invernahyle, commonly called Saoileach, or “the Peaceful,” was son of Allan Stewart, third laird of Appin. He mar- ried Margaret M‘Donald, daughter of Donald M‘Donald of Moidart, commonly called Donald an Lochan^ or Donald of the Lakes; but a deadly feud arose between Invernahyle and the family of Dunstaffnage, which, in the first instance, caused the overthrow of both.
