    A Series of Sociological Studies under the General Editorship of Professor Morris Ginsberg (.Professor of Sociology in the University of London) and Alexander Farquharson, M.A. (General Secretary of the Institute of Sociology, London) r | 'HE growing public interest in the several branches of social *■ science has tempted the publishers to embark upon a new and important series of studies of modern sociology under the distinguished editorship of Professor Ginsberg and Mr. Farquhar¬ son. It is hoped that these books will serve not only as textbooks in the Universities and Adult Education classes, where the interest in Sociology is growing rapidly, but also as a systematic introduc¬ tion to any intelligent reader to the best of modern thinking about the social world in which we live and work. With this aim in view, the treatment in all cases will be as realistic as pos¬ sible, aiming to reveal the real relationship between the various sociological theories and the practical problems of social life of which all thinking people to-day are conscious. The selection of both authors and subjects has been the special concern of the editors, and the publishers are confident of a series of the greatest utility.
