![(h) Diphtheria Immunisation. The returns for I'.Mt) eontiiiiie to he reasoniil)ly siitist'actory. C’uniparing primary immunisations of under 5's with the t(;tal births of the previous year shews that (i()% were immunised. The corres])onding percentage for 1!)4H was very lugh, being 82% and evidently included a considerable number of children aged 1—o years. 75% of the total births may be regarded as 5 a satisfactory immunisation ratio. The respective figures of immunisations by general practit' oners and County Staff follows:— General County Practitioners. Staff. 1040 (1948) 1049 (1948) Primary Immunisations in 104t) ... 1,868 (3,284i) 3,926 (4,963) Reinforcements in 1049 58 (41) 5,765 (5,695) The benefit of the immunisation sei'vice is clearly illustrated by the fact that there were <)nly two cases of di])htheria during the year, neither of which had been immunised, while in 1041, before the service had been organised on a large scale, the number of cases notified was 437.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30111912_0031.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
