![MILK IN SCHOOLS SCHEME. The })osiliou in the County as at the yist J)eeoinher, 1949, is set out in Table A. Although ‘uiulesignatcd’ milk has not been coin])letely eliminated the numher of schools receiving this type has been considerably reduced, viz. from 17 in 194H to .3 in 1949. The main difficvdty with regard to the three schools is their isolated position in relation to premises where designated milk is produced or ])rocessed. Every effort is being made, however, to provide the desired grade of milk and it is hoped that during the ensuing year 'uiidesignated’ milk will he eliminated. Abbreviations. The information obtained was exceedingly interesting and as will be seen in Table D, of the ,)4,.y2(M registered i)upils, 44,748 or 82.4% were taking milk. I must emphasise, however, that this percentage is only ai>2>i'Oxinaate and refers to one month only. • Table B. Types of Schools (including Divisional Executive Areas).
