![With regard to carrying out the provisions of the Factory and Worshops Act, 190], the register of Workshops is now complete, and they will, as early as practicable, be inspected and reported upon. Nuisances. NUISANCES. Numerous complaints have been received during the the year of smells arising from surface sewer ventilators, and the subject has been referred to the Highway and Drainage Committee. One pig nuisance has been abated during the year. Two nuisances caused by animals being kept contrary to the by-laws have been abated. At the Warren a foul and dilapidated closet has been repaired and cleaned. The slop gulley in the Fleet has been repaired and enlarged. A number of minor nuisances arising from blocked drains, accumulations of manure, etc. have been abated on notice from the Inspector of Nuisances. PERMISSIVE ACTS. The only one of the Permissive Acts in force in the PermisiveActs. District is the Infectious Diseases (Notification) Act, 1889. statistical All the above remarks together with the Tables of Tables . . . Statistics required by the Local Government Board, and the Inspector’s record of work, I respectfully submit to the Urban District Council.
