On fol. 1, this note, probably by W. Moore, printed under the name cEginhartus his Historie of Charles the g1,' at Leipsig sans date in quarto, and at Hanover in folio, with the old German authors, 1619. I have also seen a third impression of this Booke all in totidem syllabis. Nullius momenti hie liber. He was Secretarie or Chancellor to Charlemaign, and weary of the world built a Monasterie at Seligstat, where he became the first Abbat. Tis probable it was the same person under divers names; and he might take upon him the name of Alcwin when he left the world and tooke upon him the monastic Life.
