    out of the Well, which could only he done by fixing additional pumps, or by placing the existing pumps at a lower level; and as the latter arrangement would give the Asylum the command at all times of a larger supply of water than the present, it was adopted, and the work has already been completed. The repair of the defective brickwork has been placed in the hands of an hydraulic engineer of eminence, and it is known that much of the present brickwork will have to be replaced with new brickwork of greater thickness. Several alterations have been made in the Farm Buildings, and in the fencing of the pro¬ perty, which it is believed will add greatly to the convenience, and diminish to some extent the expenditure of the establishment. The balance of money placed in a joint stock bank on deposit, as stated in the last Annual ■Report has been received, with interest to the date of payment.
