![Diagnosis of Tuberculosis. 'fhe diag'nosis of tuberculosis is effected at the Tuljeia'ulosis Dispensary situated at tlie joint Clinics, The \\T’1de. The times of the sessions are Tuesday and Thursday morninj^' at 10-0 o’clock weekly, and Wednesday eyenings at 0-30 o’clock when necessary for the conyenience of j)atients who are working during the day. Cases are olnained from reference by the patients’ own priyate practitioner and fi'om other sources. The Dispensary acts as a consultatiye centre and a sorting liouse at which patients ('an be adyised to obtain the best possible treatment. The (3nly treatment giyen at the Dispensary is that administered ])y artificial light therapy, d'he important part of the work, at the Clinic is the examination of ('onta('ts of cases of puluK^nary tuberculosis, and this work was cai'ried out as usual during the year. One hundred and eiglit\--three X-i'ay examinations of tuberculous persems and of contacts Veere made. 'I'his branch (^f the work is most important, since X-rays often rex'cal the affei'tion in earl}- stages when most good can be done. Home Visits. During 1,818 visits were j3aid to the homes of palitmts b^■ the Tuberculosis Officer and by the Health Absitors. Treatment of Tuberculosis. Institution treatment is given to cases of Pulmonary Tuber- culosis at the Bur\’ and District Joint Hospital Board’s Institution (the Aitken .Sanatorium at Holcom])e, near Bury) and at tlie Jericho Hospital. Children suffering from Pulmonary Tuberculosis are sent to the Ifiverpool Open-Air Hospital for Children, Leasowe, and Shelf Sanatorium, Halifax. Cases of N^cat-Pulmonary Tul^erculosis are treated mainly at the Bury Infirmary, the .Manc'hester and Salford Hospital for Diseases of the Skin, and the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthop.'edic Hospital.
