ay SPORTS GEAR TO MAIN The Indoor Recreations Section of the Prisoners of War Department sends books to camp libraries at the rate of nearly 1,000 volumes aweek. Acting editions of plays are sent to dramatic societies, and musical instru- ments for twenty-two com- plete orchestras have been despatched. Thousands of packs of playing cards and sets of dominoes, draughts, chess, halma and other indoor games have also been distributed to the camps. TAIN FITNE Several thousand boxes of outdoor sports equipment have already been sent to the prison camps. Each case contains equipment for the needs of about 100 men, and includes jerseys, shorts and shirts, bathing slips, four footballs, a _ rugger ball, two cricket bats, four cricket balls, twelve tennis balls, five sets rope quoits, four sets boxing gloves, and many other items of equip- ment, replacements and ma- terial for repairs.
