![[ 3° ] not, Mr. Creech muft have had a fuperior profit to Mr. Murray; and the author fhould have felt fome gratitude for the latter who made a purchafe of 600 volumes of his works at one time, and on inferior terms. Should there be fophiftry in this reafoning, yet why does not Dr. Cullen complain equal- ly of Mr. Creech in the bufinefs ? But it al- ready appears that Mr. Creech complains loudly of him ; and in the letter which fol- lows he enlarges upon the fubjecl,and aiferts, that he never made twenty fallings by hi's connection with this liberal-minded phyfi- cian. In this point too the public will be apt to believe him, when it is known, that in his tranfactions with bookfellers, Dr. Cullen never regarded any man's ad- vantage but his own. But there are a few other circumftances in his charge of extortion upon Mr. Murray that mult be attended to, and which the dull memory of Dr. Cullen has not permitted him to detail. .
