Dose, 3J—>•▼« In bronchitis, &c. Syrupus Quince Iodidi. Mr. Davenport's contains gr. j in each fjj [perhaps held in solution by hydriodic acid?]. Syrupus Quince Sulpho-tartratis. Sulpho-tartrate of quinine 1 part, water 3, hot syrup 20 parts. Syrupus Quinje Lactatis. Bouchardat. Lactate of quinine gr. xv, water ^j; dissolve and add 31 j of syrup. By teaspoon- fuls; in intermittents of children. Syrupus Rhei Aromaticus. U. S. Spiced Syrup of Rhubarb. Rhubarb ^iiss, cloves ^ss, cinnamon gss, nutmeg Jij, proof spirit f^xxxij; macerate for 14 days, strain, evaporate by wa- ter-bath to fjxvj, filter while hot, and mix with Oiv f^xvj of syrup previously heated. It may also be prepared by percola- tion. Dose, for infantile bowel complaints, fjj. Syrupus Ribium {Syrup of Currants); Syrupus Rubt Id^i (Raspberries); Syr. Rubi Fruticosi (Blackberries); &c. As Syrupus Mori [P.], or Syrupus Limonis. Syrupus Salicarlze. Infuse §iij of flowering tops of willow- herb in boiling water q. s. to obtain ^v of infusion; add this to 3 xx of syrup previously evaporated to ^xv. Syrupus Senegas. U. S. Bruised seneka root ^iv, water f^xvj; boil to f^viij, strain, and add sugar ibj; make a syrup. Or—take of senega in coarse powder ^iv, water f^iv; let them stand 12 hours; then put it in a displacement apparatus, and gradually pour water upon it until the liquid passes nearly tasteless. Evaporate it to f^viij, and make a syrup with f^xv of sugar. U. S., 1851, substitutes for the water a mixture of f^viij of spirit, and f^xxiv of water. Syrupus Spigeli^: et Sennjb Concentratus.
