When we remember that the threefold ob- ject of dress is to cover, warm and defend us, and that the kind and quantity of dress which best does this, is most conducive to our own and the public good, as well as to the glory of God, we are led, very naturally, to the following reflections : 1. We have no right to use that kind of dress which does not answer well the purpose of a COVERING, so loug as we can lawfully obtain that which would do it better.
