The ‘* Epitre ’? had appeared in 1784 in an octavo volume but as Mr. Updike says (Printing types, I. 227) “it was re- printed in an exquisite little volume in 18mo—Pierre Didot’s Hssai de Fables nouvelles dediées au Roi... 1786. The same series of types is used in both books, but not in the same sizes.
