Sc. XV yx” A REMARKABLE VOLUME, ONE OF THE MS. PRECURSORS OF THE BLOCK-BOOK EDITIONS OF THE SPECULUM SALVATIONIS issued in the Low Countries in the XVth Century. It begins with the Prohemium and an alphabetical table occupying 5 pp. The draw- ings begin on the reverse of the third leaf with the Separation of Angels and Demons, the Creation of Adam and Eve, etc. and the figures end with the Coronation by Christ of the Virgin. On the reverse of the last leaf is a contemporary religious poem in German in rime, occupying 156 lines. THE DRAWINGS ARE VERY INTEREST- ING, especially from the point of view of costume and armour, many of the figures being clothed in coat armour with armorial bearings [See FACSIMILES]. The colours chiefly used are red, blue, purple, grey and brown. Some lines on the first page are illegible. Sponcir (Cav.
