[When a non-commissioned officer is discharged at his own request, a diminution of twopence a day shall be made in all ranks, from the rate of the pension to which he would other- wise, according to the scale in this article, be entitled for actual service.]—Art. 6. by order of the King, signified to the Se- cretary at War, July 30, 1830.—H. U. Second Class.— Wounds received in Action. 7. The daily Rates of Pensions for Wounds or Injuries re- ceived in Action are to be governed by the rules contained in the following Schedule : viz. Men losing two limbs,orboth eyes, from wounds, or being so severely wounded as to be totally incapable of earning a liveli- hood, and to re- quire the assist- ance and care of some other per- son. Men rendered incapable of earn- ing a livelihood, but not requiring the care of another person. Men able to con- tribute in a small degree towards a livelihood. In cases of severe wounds or injuries received in action, the pension shall be fixed, according to the rates in the foregoing schedule, by the Commissioners of Chelsea Hospital, who will grant the lowest or the highest, or any intermediate rate, ac- cording to the degree of the injury received, the length of the soldier’s previous service, his character, or any peculiar circum- stances attending his conduct at the time the wound was re- ceived.
