In addition 11 children were tnuite-cl in various Orthoi)aedic Institutions for bone and joint Tuberculosis. t)f the 101 notili('d ca.ses of Tuberculosis in tie' schools, most hav(* liad period.s of treatment, either at the .Sanatorium or at the Tulx'r- culosis Dispensary, until tlie di.sea.se is arrested. Furfhi-r supc'r- vision eontinue.s in the case of arrested disease until the arrestment has been maintained for three years. The Tuberouh^sis Dispensarv is further made use r»f to aid in the treatment of ” delicate children, and the usual course has been to observe the.se c a.scs for a period of three months, combinerl with tonic medication. If no Tuberculosis is found, lhe.se ca.ses are I’eh-rrcd for sujx'rvisinn in .school and provisiunally considered non-luberculous. During 1027, 07 sucli “ dt licate ” children attended fhe Dis- jjensary for tn'alment and observation, 40 of these ehihlren gained more than 2 lbs. in weight.
