    7. CLSMIC ARRAi^GEfVIEMTS. INFANT WELFARE. Infant Welfare Clinics are held weekly at St. Lawrence House,. Pudsey, Pack Lane Methodist School, Parsley, and Chapel Street Clinic, Calverley. Prior to 1941 two Infant Well are Clinics were held weekly at Pudsey. I'he IMedical OFlicer of Health attends personally at all the Clinics. Defects found, if of a minor character, are treated at the Clinics, otherwise the parent is referred to the family doctor for further attention. The following- attendances were made at the Child MTlfare Centres during- the year :— Total Attendances. The Medical Officer of Health holds weekly Ante-Natal and Post- Natal Clinics at Pudsey and Calverley. Expectant mothers are en¬ couraged to attend the Ante-Natal Clinic once per month up to the eighth 'month and then weekly until delivery. Cases showing any abnormality arc referred tO' the consultant obstetricians at Leeds Maternity Hospital. All mothers attending the Ante-Natal Clinic and others who attend the Child Welfare Clinic for the first time within six weeks of delivery are advised to attend the Post-Natal Clinic. 216 wonren attended the Ante-Natal Clinics during* the year, and 20 attended the Post-Natal Clinics. 9. DENTAL TREATMEHT FOR EXPECTANT IViOTHERS. Facilities are available whereby expectant and nursing mothers can obtain financial assistance towards the cost of dental treatment by their own dentist, the amount of assistance allowed being decided accordinp- to a scale based on family income. <-3 10. ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC. An Orthopaedic Clinic has been established at St. Lawrence House, and Miss N. F. Harrison, C.S.M.M.G., has been appointed Masseuse, and w ill take up her duties on January ist, 1942. We have also been fortunate in obtaining the services of Mr. F. Mk Govder, the -well-known Orthopaedic Specialist, who will act as Orthopaedic Surgeon. 11. DIPHTHERIA HVISVI UN ISATION. The same arrangements hold good for the immunisation of child¬ ren against Diphtheria as reported in the 1940 Report. 12. COVERNliENT ISSUE OF FRUIT JUICE TO CHILDREN. In accordance with Ministry of Health Circular 2520, arrange- iments w-ere made in December, 1941, for the distribution of Fruit Juices and Cod Liver Oil to children under two years of age, at the various Infant AVelfare Clinics in the Borough.
