    Sale of Consols. Resolved—That the Treasurer of the Council be and he is hereby instructed to sell sufficient Consols belonging to the Council to realise the sum of £47 11s. 5d. clear of all expenses. Loans. Resolved—-That the Council do hereby confirm the borrowing, under the provisions of the Padiham Local Board Act, 1899, of the fnrther sum of £500 for the purposes of the piping of Churn Clough to Stainscombe, in connection with the Oouncirs Water Works. \ New Mortgages. Resolved—That the Council do hereby approve of the Mortgages set out in the minutes of the meeting of the Finance and Assessment Committee, held mi the 8th January, 1908, and that the Seal of the Council be affixed to the said mortgages. Purchase of Annuities. Resolved—That the Council do hereby agree to purchase the Gas and Water Annuities set out in the minutes of the meet¬ ing of the Finance and Assessment Committee, held on the 8th January, 1908, in accordance with the terms of the resolution of the said Committee with respect thereto passed on the 18th December, 1902. County Rate. Resolved—-That the Chairman of the Council be and he is hereby authorised to sign the Return of the Annual Value of the whole of the property within the Township of Padiham liable to be assessed toward the County Rate as prepared by the Accountant.
