Pasquini, lo Spegnie Cantorino, Simone Serdini, Bindo de Cione del Frate, Simone da Montechiollo, Pietro Chantarini, Fr. Malacarne, Lod. Petroni, &c. Wira Tasso’s AUTOGRAPH NOTES WRITTEN ON THE MARGINS. 4to, vellum, 150. 15s. A plainly-written ms. of the fifteenth century, on paper, with the date 1489 at the conclusion. This is an important collection of moral poems, some unpublished, composed before mccocc. Besides the authors mentioned, all of Siena, there are other poems by Petrarca, Ant. da Tempo, Coluccio Salutati, Fazio degli Uberti, including a portion of the latter’s great poem, J! Dittamonde, &c. The text of these Rime is exceedingly pure, and the in- trinsic value of the volume is enhanced by several marginal annotations, which, according to the opinion of the best judges, are in the AUTOGRAPH OF ToRQUATO Tasso, who has corrected the text where corrupt, and has added some interesting biographical notes : for instance (folio 7), concerning Lo Spegnie Cantorino da Siena, Tasso has written on the margins, ‘‘ Fu intorno ai 1400, compose il libro della Spagnia in ottava rime,” which infor- mation is quite new, as it was supposed that it was written by Sostegno di Zanobi da Fiorenza. In every respect this volume is worthy of attention. The late proprietor, from whose description this note is compiled, valued this volume exceedingly, and at the sale where he purchased it, he was prepared to give a much higher price than that at which it is now marked. 1363 Tatranus [a.D. 172], Harmonie Evangelice antiq. versio Theotisca, ut et Isidori Hisp. de Nativitate, Passione, Resurrectione, &c., Domini Fragmentum, J.
