    large number of: the unsuccessful cases, in which recur- rence took place either iu the mouth alone or in the mouth and neck, and in which the seat of the recurrence was noted, there are only two in which it could reason- ably have been attributed to affection of the tissues which were left behind between the primary disease and the glands. XIY. Is there any Part of the Tongue from which the ■Glands are less liable to become affected ? In 23 cases out of the entire series of 197, only the primary disease was removed, but the patients remained free from recurrence in situ and from affection of the glands (successful cases).
