For (Vitravins who writeth of Building to Aags- ftusthe Emperour) faith , thatall kinde of warlike Engines were firftin vented: by Kings and Captaines, who were skilfullin the Arte of Paintingand Caruing. One thing more I addeaboue all the relt (my good friende M. Haydocke ) that in rea- ding your booke I finde thereintwo notable images of Natural and Morall Philofo- phie, the one fo fhaddowed with preceptes of Nature, the other fo garnifhed with the beft colours of Vertues; thatinmine- opinion, 1 neuerfound more vfe of Philo- fophie,in any booke Leverread of thelike theameand fubie& .
