Bower's Improved Apparatus for the Use of Invalids. to a cross piece in the uprights, which renders the propelling power “ nominal.” At the end of the stage two standards are screwed in (to he used at discretion), from which is suspended with four straps a small cane seat, so that the patient when tired “ can take rest.” 5 It is a great consideration being in two parts, being easy for packing and travelling, taking in and out of house, up steps, &c.; and when not in use can he placed in the hall, taking up no more room than an ordinary “ umbrella stand.” It is very light in its construction, and can he carried by one hand. 10 To the afflicted, such as partially paralised, injured foot or leg, invalids and cripples generally, must he a great public benefit, “ walking ” being “ rendered easy,” and the price so moderate.
