![diagnosis, e.g., the McFadyean method of staining for Anthrax bacilli, gives a pinkish colouration to films where these bacilli are present. The procedure required for differential and special, staining is ziven where applicable, under the description of the various diseases n this handbook. Stains are supplied to veterinary hospitals in tabloid form in a small phial surrounded by a booklet containing full instructions as to the preparation and use of the stain, Mounting.—A small drop of thick solution of canada balsam in xylol is placed in the centre of a slide and the cover glass, surface lownwards, deposited on the balsam, which then spreads out, and inally extends over the whole under surface of the cover glass.
