Vienna, oth and 16th March, 1715. £7 10s Two very interesting diplomatic letters on the question of the » Barrier inthe Netherlands; wAtter the treaty of Rastaqctaine1 712, it was left to the Emperor to make his own arrangements with Holland about the Netherlands. These negotiations occupied a long time, and in the above letters the Emperor explains in frank terms his standpoint regarding the three remaining points to be settled. He is ready with concessions in order to bring the affair to a conclusion, but insists on the Catholic religion being kept as sole State Religion in the territories which he is going to give up.
