![made a])}dicati()ii to the Council for iiiimuiiisation of the staff and ])atieiits. This has l)eeii performed for two or three years In- Dr. Pedley with encouraging resnlts. It wonld seem that a scheme should be available for all institutions receiving children from several districts, and it is gratifying to note that the matter is receiving the consideration of other organi- sations. In Bournemouth an extension of the scheme of immunisation will shortly be arranged. It is antici- pated that a good response will be obtained througli the niedinm of elementary schools and welfare centres. Pneiujtonia is notified imperfectly, so that the number of deaths appears to be excessive. Influenza has not been epidemic, and only 5 deaths were attributed to the disease. Encephalitis Lethargica produced 7 notifications. Anterior-Polionivelitis. There were 2 mild cases of this disease. Cerebro-Spinal Fever, Enteric Fever and Sniall- PoY. No notifications were received. Attention has not been called to any of the less common diseases, viz., Dysentery, Malaria, Anthrax, ('ilandular Fever, Undulant Fever or Psittacosis. non-notifiablf: dIvSEases. Certain of these, viz.. Whooping-cough, Measles and Mumps have been epidemic. The first accounted for 4 deaths and the second tor 2. Patients suffering from these diseases are some- times admitted to the Isolation Hospital. In addition to those seriously ill, facilities are needed for visitors in boarding establishments, and for inmates of insti- tutions. In the control of infectious conditions, co-operation is maintained between all departments. vSanitary inspectors, health visitors, teachers and attendance](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b2894303x_0039.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
