It was published in June 1846 nd thus coincided closely with the appearance of Elliotson's Harveian Oration. isdaile does not hete use the term 'amesthesia.' The book was several limes re- united. An American edition with text unchanged was brought out at Hart- ord, Conn. (Silas Andrus and Son, xv, 259 pp.) in 1851. Much rarer is a volume vhich he had printed at Perth in 1852 under the title.
