    HE Account of the French Academy of Sciences confifts of two Parts, the firft which we cal] more particular¬ ly the Hiflorical Part, is an Eixtrad and Abridgment of all the remarka- lat have been reported to that Society, either by Writing or Word of Mouth. The fe- cond are the Memoirs, that is to fay, forrie of thofe Pieces read in the Academy, and efteenfd the moft important, . and moft worthy to be communicated to the Pubiick at their whole Length. The Memoirs are in a manner what we call in a common Hiftory, the Authentick Ads, or Docu¬ ments, and are publifhed with the fame, bv way of Appendix.
