![MAS) SUsee ce] COUNTY “ASYLUM, HAY WARDS-HEATH. FORTY-FOURLTH -ANNUAL REPORT OF TRE VISITING COMMITTEE (Pursuant to Sec. 190 Lunacy Act, 1890). To the County Council of East Sussex. THE VISITING COMMITTEE submit to the Council their Report for the past year. The pressure on the accommodation at the date of the last Annual Report has been maintained, and in March last, for the first time in the history of the Asylum, the number of Patients in the Asylum exceeded 1,000, As a consequence of this pressure accommodation has been sought for in other Asylums, and the following new reception Contracts have been entered into, viz. :—East Riding of York Asylum at Beverley, 15 females; Notts City Asylum, 20 females; and Kesteven Asylum, Lincolnshire, 30 females. The old Contracts with Exeter City, West Sussex, Burntwood, and Nottingham have also been renewed, and these, together with the new Contracts, have, in view of the approaching separation of East Sussex and Brighton, been made determinable on short notice.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b31857772_0005.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
