![from the slow, reluctant hand of parochial administrators is an insufficient palliative for the present case. Shall the unhappy pa¬ tient then seek for refuge in the parish work- house? Alas! the Fever is already making its ravages there]*.—What therefore is to be done? All these mischiefs admit of ready alle¬ viation, and might, with proper management, be removed at a moderate expense. Let Houses of Recovery be established in open, •* airy situations, at some distance from other buildings, but adjoining to different districts of the metropolis; to be supported either at the joint expense of the several parishes within each district, or by a voluntary subscription among its principal inhabitants.
