The vie treous humour alfo was confiderably ins jured, and its cellule fo much deranged, that no fooner had my father completed the incifion through the cornea, than a part of this humour, in confiftence like the white of an egg, immediately efca- ped. ’ The catara@, now lofing the fup- port which it had before received from the vitreous humour, fell to the bottom of the eye. It became neceffary, there- fore, to feize it with a {mall hook, and thus extract it. This was not accom- plifhed without difficulty, and the effu- fion of another portion of the vitreous hu- mour.
