![lighting, so as to exclude such land as in their opinion ougflj to be excluded. From further information furnished by William Dewes, Es(M clerk to the Board, and Mr. Kidgor the surveyor, it seems thai the area of the present district, including the site of the town! is 1,720 acres, while the area of the proposed district, including! the whole of the parish, except Ashby Woulds, and the town! ships or hamlets of Blackfordby and Boothorpe, is 4,270 acres! The length of public carriage-ways in the present district ig rather less than 2£ miles, with half a-mile of bridleway ia addition, while the length of public carriage-way in the propostk district is rather more than 2 J miles, with half a-mile of bridle] way in addition. The practical shape of the question is. that the land anq buildings upon 1,720 acres including the town would have tha burden of nine-elevenths of the highways, and the remaining 2,550 acres, heretofore liable to its full proportion, would, witH the present boundary, only have to maintain two-elevenths. I cannot therefore hesitate to recommend that your Honour] able Board should make a Provisional Order to alter and exteriq the boundaries of the district of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, so as to include the whole of the parish of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, excepj the part known as the district of Ashby Woulds, and the town] ships or hamlets of Blackfordby and Boothorpe. I have the honour to be, My Lords and Gentlemen, Your very obedient Servant, William Lee. To the General Board of Health, Sfc. Sfc. frc.
