![GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING AT BRADFORD. The General Annual Meeting of the Subscribers to the Royal Albert Asylum was held at Bradford, on Friday, September 29th, 1871, THE RIGHT REV. THE LOUD BISHOP OF MANCHESTER, IN THE CHAIB. The proceedings having been opened with prayer by the Rev. S. Earnshaw, M.A., the General Secretary (Mr. James Diggens), read the Reports of the Central Committee, and Mr. Charles France, Honorary Secretary to the Bradford Local Committee, read the Auditors’ Report and their Certificates as to the accuracy of the Balance Sheets presented by the General Secretary. The Chairman then addressed the meeting; after which the following resolutions were unanimously passed:— 1.—That this Meeting approves and adopts the Report now submitted; and, whilst gratefully acknowledging the liberal support which the Royal Albert Asylum has so generally received, respectfully urges the Local Committees and the Subscribers in every part of the Northern Counties, to renewed exertions, so that the Asylum may be completed free from debt, and with an adequate provision for its maintenance. Paget Gregson, Esq. James S. Harrison, Esq. Thomas Howitt, Esq. Henry Had wen, Esq. William Roper, Esq. Moved by Titus Salt, Esq., Bradford; seconded by supported by Richard Hurst, Esq., Rochdale. 3. —That this Meeting gratefully recognises its obligations to those Gentlemen who have hitherto acted as the Bradford Local Committee, and invites them to continue their earnest and practical efforts for promoting the success of the Royal Albert Asylum. —[For names see List of Local Committees.] Moved bv Wright Mellor, Esq., Huddersfield; seconded by the Rev. S. Earnshaw, M.A., Sheffield. 4. —That the best thanks of the Subscribers J)e given to the Honorary Auditors for the past year (Messrs. Rees, White, & Co., Public Accountants, Manchester, Edward B. Dawson, Esq., LL.B., Lancaster, and William Roper, Esq., Lancaster), for their efficient investigation of the Accounts of the Asylum; and this Meeting, in accordance with Rule 34, hereby appoints Messrs. Rees, White, & Co., William Roper, Esq., and James Carter Moon, Esq. (Lancaster), to act as Honorary Auditors for the ensuing year. Moved by W. E. Glyde, Esq., Bradford ; seconded by Dr. E. D. de Vitre. 5. —That, circumstances permitting, the next General Annual Meeting of the friends and supporters of this Institution be held at Manchester, on Wednesday, September 25th, 1872, and that notice thereof be given in the Manchester, Lancaster, Liver¬ pool, York, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Durham, Newcastle, Kendal, Carlisle, and Chester papers. Semon, Esq., Bradford ; seconded by John Rand, Esq., Bradford. 6. —That this meeting cordially thanks the Lord Bishop of Manchester for the able and courteous manner in which his Lordship has conducted the proceedings of to-day, and for his eloquent advocacy of the cause of the Asylum.
