About this work
Description
Advertising card for Tarrant's Seltzer Aperient. The aperient was sold as a bottle of white powder which produced 30 - 40 glasses of "foaming, sparkling Seltzer" when added to water to which was supposed to cure "headaches, constipation, indigestion and dyspepsia". This one shows a baby with short, blond hair peeping out of an open wicker basket with garlands of pink roses around it and the Tarrant's logo over the front in blue.
